I'm doing so much traveling sans my personal netbook this winter that it's hard to keep up here! To the girls who post everyday: I salute you! It's no small feat to find the time between work and a social life!
Anyway, a question was posed on another blog today about purse essentials. It got me thinking about work-related travel essentials, as I'm doing so much jet setting as of late. Other than my iPhone, I've decided that the below are must-haves when on the road.
1. a roomy, sturdy, all-season tote to hold everything from a laptop, to magazines, to plane snacks
2. Chapstick. With travel comes dehydration, and no other lip balm compares to the original
3. for some reason, I'm always freezing on the train from Boston to New York. Planes can be quite chilly too. You can't go wrong with a colorful scarf in a fun pattern
4. when you're running around, cozy flats are a lifesaver
This past weekend was one of the laziest in memory. I was drained from the week and my couch and a big, warm blanket was much more appealing than putting on my warmest layers to face the 10 degree weather.
I took the downtime to dig through my closet to uncover super comfy cowboy boots to bring on a trip to Nashville in June, finally finish Mindy Kaling's hilarious new book (a must-read!), dig into a stack of magazines I've been accumulating, do some web browsing on my pink netbook, and drink plenty of lemon water (a New Year's resolution.)

TGIF! What a crazy busy week it's been. I mentioned in my last post that I'd be spending the week in fabulous Las Vegas, Nevada, and I'm finally back home after several days spent in the dessert and a red eye flight that's caused my sleeping and eating patterns to spiral totally out of whack.
Luckily, in between long hours logged at a trade show, we were able to fit some fun into our trip. It was my fourth time being in Vegas, and the city grows on me a little with each visit.
With highs in the 60's it was too cold for the pool, but it didn't stop us from taking in the scene.

One of the highlights of the trip was getting to zipline high above the crowd across Freemont street in Old Vegas. You MUST do it if you're in sin city!
And finally, being a Celine Dion fan, I couldn't miss her in concert as part of her residency at the Colosseum at Caesar's. Here I am rocking the fun bun just after the show. If I can't meet Celine, this will have to do!
If I made a 2012 style resolution, it would be to integrate more bright colors into my wardrobe. Whether it's because it goes with everything, it's flattering, or a combination of both, my closet is filled with black.
Luckily for me, the biggest trend I've been seeing in the spring collections is color, and lots of it (Pantone named tangerine the color of the new year, fyi.) I can't wait to integrate some brights into my wardrobe this year.
Here are some of the pieces that've caught my eye so far:
