Foodie Fix

Typically, the Food Network serves as background noise while I clean or catch up on my blog reading, but this past weekend, one simple recipe caught my eye.

Avocado Toast is extremely simple to make, and it's a delicious, inexpensive and relatively healthy appetizer or snack. I've made it twice since Sunday and I'm hooked! All you need for a single serving is a ripe avocado, 2 slices of wheat bread, olive oil, salt and pepper.

To make, halve a ripe avocado and pull the seed out. In the meantime, toast 2 slices of wheat bread.

Make several lengthwise slices on each half

Lay the avocado slices on the toast and distribute olive oil evenly over the two slices. Add salt and pepper to taste (I like a lot!)

Bon appetit!

Retail Therapy

Accomplishing my three San Fran goals was a big FAIL. I did, however, manage to snap this pretty pic of the Bay Bridge...

...and had a delicious breakfast at Perry's by the water

Better luck next time, I suppose.

Today's post focuses on one of my favorite things: shopping. My burning question is this: when looking to get your retail fix online, which e-tailers are go-tos for affordable, of-the-moment styles?

I typically gravitate towards Lulu's and F21, but recently discovered both Tobi and Stitched & Adorned.

Which stores do you hit up on the web? Inquiring minds want to know!

If You're Going to San Francisco..

I'm busy packing for an early flight (and watching Dance Moms shh!,) but I wanted to check in to let you know I'm alive.

I have three goals for this very short trip and it's not surprising at all that two of them have to do with food!

1. Ride a trolley

2. Get a Red Velvet cupcake at Sprinkles (I've craved them since I spent a semester in LA 5 years ago!)

3. Get a protein style burger and animal style fries at In N Out

...Maybe I'll even wear some flowers in my hair ;-)

On the Bright Side

Mondays are rough, anyway you slice it. You're back on the grind at work and the weekend is out of reach. It's not all gloom and doom, though! Here are some things getting me through this week:

{picking up my new glasses}

{a trip to San Francisco on Wednesday}

{Cadbury Mini Eggs, some of my favorite candy that's already on shelves ahead of Easter}

{a planned summer beach getaway}

What's getting YOU through the week?

Pretty Polished

{Navigate Her, A Crewed Interest, To Buy or Not to Buy, Tour de Finance, Ole Caliente & Orange, It's Obvious!}

While I'm itching to wear warm weather clothing (bright skinnies and neon wedges are currently topping my list!) new nail polish shades have also been catching my eye as of late.

Being an Essie devotee, I'm loving their spring line, 'Navigate Her,' especially the punchy pink 'Tour de Finance.' The best part about this new lineup of 6 pretty hues? You don't have to wait until spring to see them on your fingers! The line hits shelves next month. Inspired by "ambitious, self-made women," the colors are perfect for perking up dreary winter days.

Which shade will you be running out to scoop up?
